The 200th Anniversary of the University of Oslo

In conjunction with Oslo University's 200th anniversary, and the 100th anniversary of the Aula Concert Hall, the Oslo Philharmonic returned on September 24th 2011 to its old concert hall, newly renovated for the occasion.

The program featured Johan Svendsen's Symphony No. 1, and Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, with Håvard Gimse as soloist. The orchestra was conducted by Eivind Aadland.

The concert was divided into two television programs, both of which were broadcast by NRK. The A minor concerto is also used in the anniversary program “The Sun”, specially produced for Arte in celebration of Edvard Munch's 150th Anniversary.

The 200th Anniversary of the City of Drammen

The city of Drammen celebrated its 200th Anniversary on June 19, 2011.

The televised program was an edited version of the show produced by Scene Kvelder for the City of Drammen.

Elverum 2011

To celebrate the opening of the new Terning Arena in Elverum on January 7th 2011, the local youth symphony orchestra performed under the direction of Ole Kristian Ruud. The soloist was Håvard Gimse.

City Hall Plaza 2010

For the second year in a row the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra performed Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 - Ode to Joy at the City Hall Plaza in Oslo in August 2010.
